Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Silver Spoon ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application or this website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Email address (when you sign up for launch updates or create an account)
- Name and profile information (when you sign in with Apple or Google)
- Saved favorites, dietary preferences, and notification settings (when you use the app)
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, operating system, app version
- Crash reports and performance data (via Sentry)
- Aggregated usage analytics (e.g., which features you use)
- IP address and approximate location (city / country level only)
Subscription information: Apple and Google process all subscription payments. We never see your full payment details. Through RevenueCat, our subscription management partner, we receive an anonymized identifier and your subscription status.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Service (e.g., sync your favorites across devices, send you the daily meal-plan reminders you opted into)
- To send you launch updates and product news (only if you signed up via the waitlist or opted in)
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security issues, or technical problems
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third parties to operate the Service. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, Firestore database, analytics. Privacy
- RevenueCat — subscription management. Privacy
- Sentry — crash reporting. Privacy
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — app distribution and payments
- Spoonacular — recipe data source. We do not share your personal information with Spoonacular.
- Heroku — website hosting
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, security, or audit purposes. Email addresses on the launch waitlist are retained until you unsubscribe or until 12 months after the launch date.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted credentials at rest, and access controls limited to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices
- Notifications: Toggle daily meal-plan reminders on or off in app settings.
- Email updates: Unsubscribe via the link in any marketing email.
- Account deletion: In the app, go to Settings → Delete Account to permanently delete your account and associated data. You can also email silverspoonapp2026@gmail.com from your registered address; we respond within 30 days.
- Data access / correction: Same channel — request a copy or correction of your data.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.
8. International Users
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own (primarily the United States). Where required by law (e.g., GDPR for EU residents, CCPA for California residents), we honor the rights granted to you under those laws, including the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you within the Service or by email.
